Gwinnett County and the City of Buford both have highly-rated school districts, and students consistently score higher on test scores than most students throughout the state. There is also no short supply of accredited higher-education institutions in Gwinnett County. The University of Georgia, The Medical College of Georgia, Southern Polytechnic State University, Gwinnett College of Business and Gwinnett Technical College are just to name a few.

When residents are not working or attending class, Gwinnett County offers a variety of cultural opportunities including theater, ballet and symphony performances as well as many special events and exhibits. The Arena at Gwinnett Center – Atlanta’s second largest arena – is home to the Gwinnett Gladiators and Georgia Force and hosts various events including concerts, special events and conventions. Gwinnett County also has many parks that have such facilities as ball fields, picnic shelters, playgrounds, lakes and walking trails.

Shopping includes Gwinnett Place Mall, Discover Mills, Mall of Georgia and the Forum shops at Peachtree Parkway as well as locally owned specialty shops, antique stores and outlet centers.
